DUBLIN MUSICAL SAUNTER
The Dublin Musical Saunter, a stand-alone event, this year features four exceptional Dubliners who shine a light both at home and abroad on the rich musical talent of Ireland; clarinettist, Carol McGonnell, soprano Anna Devin, and pianists Dearbhla Collins and Hugh Tinney. The Saunter is presented as usual in Dublin’s Fair City and is supported by Dublin City Council.

Fearless exploration of cutting-edge developments in new music is the hallmark of Carol McGonnell’s performance career, a perfect match for the juxtaposition of old and new in the interesting and faithfully restored International Hub Offices of Airbnb. Now based in New York City, she is recognised as one of the finest exponents of contemporary clarinet repertoire and a champion of new music, having been involved in the commissioning of over 100 new works. Festival audiences will have an exciting opportunity to hear this thrilling musician in a solo clarinet recital of new music, and to experience first-hand just why she has been lauded by the LA Times as “elastic, exacting, stupendous”. A feast for the eyes and the ears!
