Dublin Musical Saunter – Hugh Tinney in celebration of his 60th Birthday

The Dublin Musical Saunter, a stand-alone event, this year features four exceptional Dubliners who shine a light both at home and abroad on the rich musical talent of Ireland; clarinettist, Carol McGonnell, soprano Anna Devin, and pianists Dearbhla Collins and Hugh Tinney. The Saunter is presented as usual in Dublin’s Fair City and is supported by Dublin City Council.

The final concert in Festival 2018 features pianist Hugh Tinney, a former Artistic Director of the Festival.  Hugh first came to international recognition when he won First-Prize in both the 1983 Pozzoli and 1984 Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competitions. Since then he has performed in more than 30 countries has been a major figure in Irish musical life over four decades.  The Festival is proud to salute this exceptional Irish musician on the occasion of his 60th birthday in a programme of music by Schubert, Beethoven, Chopin, Thomas Adès and Irish composer, Ian Wilson.
